  氩气是人类很熟悉的一种惰性气体,它很久以来已被用于气体保护焊接和灯泡内的灯丝保护。
  氩气是从大气中分离出来的,因为它的惰性,即使在火灾造成的高温高压下也不参与任何化学反映。它不导电,无色无味无毒,对环境和人体没有任何不良影响。大气中氩气的含量为0.93% (容积)。将大气中的氧气和氮气体分离出来之后,所剩气体中即可提取氩气。
  氩气灭火采取的是窒息法。它将燃烧区中的氧气替换或驱散,将物质燃烧所需的氧气降到可燃浓度以下,以熄灭燃烧。
氩气自动灭火系统
  氩气自动灭火系统的应用场合为要求最迅速的灭火,并且灭火剂不对保护区域产生损坏的情况。因此,它特别适用于保护计算机房,控制中心以及类似场合。灭火氩气以压缩气体形式储存在高压气瓶中。当发生火灾时,灭火剂通过管道网络进入保护区域,并通过喷头喷射到燃烧区域。管道网络的结构,尺寸以及灭火喷头的排列都要进行精确的水利计算得出。
  使用氩气自动灭火系统也可保护多个保护区域。灭火剂的储量应按其中最大的一个保护区域计算。
氩气自动灭火系统的启动
  氩气自动灭火系统用高灵敏度火灾探测器启动。火灾探测可以在火灾的初始阶段探测到火灾。并通过火灾报警中心立即启动灭火过程。这样就把各种火灾消灭在蔓延之前。“立即启动灭火过程”当然也意味着包括规范标定的预警时间,在这段时间内,此保护区域的人员可以在灭火剂喷出之前从容撤离。灭火剂喷出时,报警系统发出声光报警信息。
  在德国,由“德国员工安全保障协会”颁发的“二氧化碳灭火系统安全规则 ZH1/206“可延伸使用至氩气灭火系统。氩气不损害人员健康。在正常灭火浓度下,人可在氩气灭火区呼吸生存。
氩气灭火的优越性
  - 它是地地道道的绿色环保灭火技术;
  - 它对被保护物体无毒,无损,无腐蚀,即使在高温高压下仍然如此;
  - 灭火之后无残留物,不会生成任何腐蚀性物质;
  - 对环境和人员不会有任何伤害;
  - 喷放时无骤冷,不会影响(或损坏)半导体元件和计算机的工作;
  - 喷放时无雾化,不影响视野,便于人员撤离;
  - 氩气的罐装技术在国内已是很成熟的,业主可在任何一空气分离厂自行完成。从而业主在系统安装使用后不会受系统制造商的限制。
