IG55氮气、氩气灭火系统使用的灭火剂为氩气（50%）和氮气（50%），两种气体均为无色，无味，无腐蚀，不导电的惰性气体，两种气体均可从空气中提取，灭火后又回归大气。其GWP和ODP的值均为0，即对大气臭氧层没有损耗，不产生温室效应，环境友好；两种气体均不与其它物质或混合物发生化学反应，使用后仍保持自身化学性质，不会对其它物质造成二次污染。

IG55氮气氩气灭火系统的优势
（1）灭火剂为洁净气体，可长期使用，没有淘汰风险
氮气、氩气是空气中的组成部分，是环境友好气体，灭火后又回归大气，温室效应潜能值GWP=0；臭氧层消耗潜能值ODP=0，不破坏臭氧层，不产生温室效应。既不受“蒙特利尔协议”的限制，也不受“京都议定书”的限制，没有被淘汰的风险，可长期使用。
（2）灭火剂来源广泛，市场接受程度高
氮气、氩气直接从空气中提取，成本低，市场接受程度高。氮气、氩气并非合成品，生产过程中不使用化学药剂，无化学试剂残留，均从绝干空气中提取，通过专用过程塔进行浓缩和液化。
（3）对贵重仪器、设备、资料无损害
灭火原理为物理式灭火，不与其他物质或混合物发生化学反应，不会对其他物质造成二次污染，在任何环境下，化学性质均不变。无腐蚀，无毒，不导电，不产生分解物，不腐蚀设备。灭火后，灭火剂没有任何残渣或残留物，火灾现场易于清理。
惰性气体灭火剂喷放时，药剂不发生吸热汽化等现象，因此，防护区温度不会急剧下降，珍贵资料纸张和磁盘不会出现发脆而损坏的现象，精密仪器表面也不会产生大量的冷凝水。
（4）对人的生命不构成危害
可安全用于有人员的场合，在火灾报警时，人员在安全时间内撤离防护区即可。?惰性气体灭火剂喷放时，不产生白雾，视野清晰。
